Welcome 2012!

New Year's Eve this year was low key for us. I had my long run Saturday morning and we both had to work at church on Sunday so going out didn't sound too appealing to us.

Instead we had a night in with a homemade pizza (an annual tradition of ours) and a marathon of Criminal Minds Season 6.

We made a whole wheat pizza crust from a Wolf Gang Puck recipe you can find here. On half the pizza we did pepperoni and the other half we did chicken with an arugula vinaigrette (recipe here). It was absolutely amazing!

We toasted the new year in and watched fireworks from the upstairs before heading to bed.

The following day after church we headed down to League City to spend the day with our family - Jason's sister, her husband, and their little one (our niece) Sydney who is almost two. We were celebrating a "late" Christmas with them since we were in Chicago.

We got little Sydney a couple of books, some cute clothes, and some fun toys! We hope she likes them! We sure do love this little one! :-)
