Garden Overgrowth

We've been MIA for three weeks now. (Don't worry- those blog posts are to come... We just got back this weekend!)

The night before we left we realized the birds were eating our tomatoes. So what do two engineers do under such circumstances? Race to Lowe's for netting and jerry rig a cover to protect them. Did I mentioned that it was around 9 pm that we did this...? Yep.

Then we left for three weeks. And came back to a small forrest!

The corn and popcorn exploded and we have massive-sized cucumbers, squash, and zucchini. The bad thing is most of them veggies don't taste good when they get over grown. :-(

We harvested a bunch of beans, garlic, and herbs for us to use/dry. The garlic is fantastic and tonight we are trying our okra!

I am drying some of the basil, rosemary, and oregano.

We spent all Sunday afternoon weeding and harvesting. The good thing is that our garden is still growing... Thanks to the automatic drip system Jason tied into our sprinkler! ;-)

And it looks like soon we will have another squash (normal-sized) and popcorn!
