The weekend of Mother's Day we were in need of some green and decided to visit a place that's been on our list for awhile, but we hadn't made it out to yet - Irkhaya Farm Lagoons.
It's a group of irrigation ponds with greenery surrounding it that's ideal for bird watching. Qatar has had a very dry season and some of the ponds had disappeared, but most were still there and we spent time wandering the tall grass, drawing beetles, and exploring. We had dinner and watched the sunset before exploring a bit more. We called it quits when we realized we forgot our head lamps and noticed some pretty sizable spiders en route back to the car!
