December Diaries

 We finished up the first half of December with celebrating the end of t-ball, helping plan our Women's Ministry Christmas event, and taking advantage of the activities around Doha!

We also celebrated National Day by dressing up and enjoying the Dhow Festival that was happening along Katara before heading out for our holiday to Switzerland, Germany, and Turkey (stay tuned for the update on that trip!)

Christmas Card 2021

I love making our Christmas card each year! We use a mail forwarding service to send them to friends and family in the US and then print hard copies to give to friends here in Doha. Here is this year's card!

Early Christmas Celebrations

Since we are going to be traveling for Christmas this year we decided to do everything (except presents) early. The kids invited friends over to paint reindeer paintings, we decorated gingerbread houses, and we took advantage of a sweet neighbors Christmas backdrop for photos of the girls!

Qatar National Day and Dhow Festival

Qatar National Day is Dec 18 and the girls love celebrating at school and around the city. They wore these fun outfits to class. 

We took advantage of the {free} dhow festival at Katara and spent an afternoon there. We got to ride on a dhow to an island they setup in the water and have arabic coffee and Karak and sweets. Afterwards we walked around looking at the history of the dhows and the girls got to hold a falcon (always a favorite activity!).

November Notes

 November seemed to fly by with school and baseball each week. We got to celebrate Thanksgiving and my birthday along with some other fun things during the month!

1. Olivia practicing her t-ball skills.
2. Evy up to bat shortly after.
3. Ice skating birthday party with friends!
4. Boo to masks in the mall still
5. Enjoying a picnic brunch with friends.
6. Olivia lost her first tooth!
7. Great teacher-parent conferences means a chocolate croissant treat!
8. Jason took the girls to Kidzmondo all day on Saturday to allow me to get Christmas presents wrapped and sorted and do some uninterrupted housework.
9. The girls pooled their earnings from the past four years to get a fun piano!!

Thanksgiving 2021

We co-hosted Thanksgiving this year again with my neighbor Davra and had six families over to celebrate the occasion. The food was amazing, the company divine, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to celebrate such an American holiday with friends.

Birthday Fun

 This year my birthday fell on Thanksgiving, but thankfully our group decided to celebrate the holiday on Friday (the first day of the weekend) since everyone had work and school on Thursday. I got to be spoiled with breakfast in bed by my sweet girls, lunch with friends, a friend's concert and dinner in Aspire tower at a rotating restaurant. It was lovely and I appreciate all of the birthday wishes sent to me from around the world and my family for making the day so special. ❤️

Halloween 2021

Halloween did not disappoint in Qipco! The houses were spooky and the girls loved trick or treating with their friends and getting loads of candy. We also enjoyed some festive jello shots and decorated haunted houses! 🎃👻
